I used to live in Shizuoka--in a large city called "Numazu". Shizuoka-ken is the home of Mt. Fuji, which the symbol incorporates, as well as the shape of Shizuoka-ken itself. Shizuoka City is the capital. The kanji mean 'quiet hill'.
