雀は、「いたい、いたい」となきながら、どこかへ飛んでいってしまいました。

帰ってきたおじいさんは、雀を探しましたが、家にはいません。「おばあさん、雀はどこへいったかな？」と聞くと、おばあさんは、昼間のことを話しました。「わたしの大事なのりをすっかりなめてしまったものだから、舌を切っておいだしましたよ。」

おじいさんは、「それはかわいそうなことをした。雀は、だいじょうぶかな。」と、大変がっかりしました。

おじいさんは、雀のことが心配でたまらず、探しにでかけました。
