Re: つうわけで、つうか。。など

:D わかりました。 つうかさあ=というかさあ It is just つうか with a さあ attached. Do you know what さあ means? I don't know how to explain さあ, I need to think about it. Although it kind of feels like "You know, ... " in English. I guess さあmay mean "who knows..." or is similiar to じゃ or では。 eg. Did he cheat on his wife? さあ。(...

つうわけで、つうか。。など

I’ve noticed that つうわけで, つうかさあ, つうか, ていうか, etc are so often used at the beginning of sentences while watching anime. I’m guessing all of them are used to change a topic and perhaps have the same meaning to でも or だけどorけど. I can’t find the former 3 words in my dictionary, so I’m here looking for help....

Re: small questions

Umm, got it. I met those expressions in some business conversations, so first I thought they were polite Japanese and usually used in formal occasions. Now seems like that this kind of expressions are not so commonly used and widely known, I will just forget it. :)

Re: small questions

Thank you very much, Kurisuto San. I didn't expect such a detailed explanation and corrections. I really appreciate it. I can understand most of the parts, but still have problems with yoroshuu and hisashuu. As I have just been learning Japanese for about 1 year, I don't want to dig so deep right no...

Re: desperately finding sites about giongo and gitaigo

はい、はじめまして。

ご意見ありがとうございます。

私は今、少しずつ勉強しています。でも、とても混乱しています。だから、もし全部のを含まれるサイトを知ったら、覚えやすくなるかもしれない。

(2500-4500、すごい数字ですね。でも、がんばります。)

desperately finding sites about giongo and gitaigo

Hi guys. Is there anyone knows any sites that teach all or most of the giongo and gitaigo? I've been memorizing these words and found out they are so hard to remember. Remember them today, then forget tomorrow. So I need to a site ,so that I can learn them together and not so easy to forget. Anyone ...

Re: small questions

I'm more confused now. Passive forms and potential forms are really driving me crazy. I can not quite catch your meanings. So can I conclude to this: 思われる and 思える, both are 思う's passive forms and potential forms. But they are not frequently used. As to passive form, 思われるis used, potential form, 思うこと...

文法についていくつの質問があります。教えてください。 1.北京行きの航空便は一日に8便(が)あります。 The original sentense didn't have が, but I suppose it should be there. 2.山本は今出かけております。 What does おりますmean here? What's its usage? 3.日本の山では富士山が有名です。この(その)山には毎年30万人が登ります。 In this sentense , この is used, but can I use その as well? 4.申し込むには一定の資格が要る。 Why ...

Questions from Death Note

I'm sorry I keep posting cause I really have toooo.. many questions and I'm eager to figure them out. Here are some questions I met when I was reading Death Note, the manga. 二人の選ばれし者の壮絶な戦いが始まる。 死因を書かなければ、全くが心臓麻痺となる。 I copied the above sentences from the manga, but I can't understand parts of them....

Re: "Stop raining" in Japanese

Then what's the difference between 止まるand 止む? If I'm correct, both of them are active forms, right? Then this makes clear to distinguish them to 止める. So can I say 止まるand止む mean exactly the same? For example, 雨が止まるまで待つ。 雨が止むまで待つ。(These two mean the same thing, right?) 雨を止めるまで待つ。( This is wrong, right?)

"Stop raining" in Japanese

I was wondering which is the correct way to say" Please stop raining". Here I gave two sentences:

雨を止めてください。
雨が止まってください。

But I'm not sure which is the right one or both of them are wrong.
The active and passive verb pairs have been bugging me for a long time and still can not figure out the answer.
