Eating in Japan?

Hello again, It's been a while since I last visited, not to mention studied, however I hope to take that up again soon, I'm a bit of a slacker when it comes to things I don't like to do. Anyway. I was wondering what many of you who live in Japan like to eat for breakfast. My current diet is ...

Re: What's the best way to remember kanji?

I'm going to learn the radicals. But eh, where's a good site explaining all of them. Would really appreciate a good site :)

I'm a determined person, who loves language. I'm learning spanish beside japanese. And also next I'll be learning bokmal and Swedish.

What's the best way to remember kanji?

Hello! Hi, I have just started chapter 3 in Genki I Second Edition. And, with chapter 3, there's kanji. I know a few kanji right now, but they are pretty simple, "語" is the most complex one I know so far. I'm presented with a new challenge, that's learning not only the word with the meaning, but the...

Re: N4 or N5?

I really can't say for two reasons - I haven't used Genki myself, but more importantly, it depends on what else you do. If you just study Genki for an hour a day, you'll have trouble passing any test. If you complete Genki and meanwhile spend hours a day watching (without subtitles) Japanese shows,...

Re: N4 or N5?

It's my understanding that it's given 2 times a year at certain locations. One being boston, which is the closest to me.

Where would finishing genki I get me? Same for genki II?

N4 or N5?

I'm a beginner, and would very easily fail both. However. What one should I choose? Say I complete genki I. Would I be able to pass N5? If so, would it be worth studying for N4? I've heard N5 is very easy, and not worth it. I do plan on passing N1 at some point, but I'm very far away from that goal....

Thanks :)

I still need to finish genki I by this time next year at the latest though. It's my goal.
But I think I just need to dedicate more time to study.

Help. I'm not studying enough.

Okay, For the past few months. I have been studying... however I'm getting nowhere fast. I'm still on the first chapter of Genki I. It's not that I'm stuck on anything, rather it's because I'm not a self-learning person. I'm ashamed to acknowledge that I know more spanish than I do japanese (which i...

Wow! That's pretty cool that you know him, didn't know he made curl.

Anyway, rockbox now has an easy to use installer. It's not too work intensive. It's pretty close to the time it takes to install firefox :p

Re: Overwhelmed with amount left to learn... Words of advice

I would just try to get the general idea of what they are saying. At the very least, try to see if you can't recognize some familiar phrases.

Anything with rockbox on it! Just install the font pack and use a UTF-16 supporting font. There are plenty!
