Re: Advice on Electronic Dictionaries

You're way too tight with the budget. That thing you mentioned is... well, useless. Just from the title I wouldn't expect anything good for learning Japanese from a "14 Language Speaking Translator". Those "translators" must be good for traveling, with pre-made phrases and useful words, just like th...

Re: Enka albums recommendations? (example inside)

Yes indeed, those two look too similar if you don't pay attention (and it doesn't help being late at night) <_<

Edited the post, thanks.

Re: Advice on Electronic Dictionaries

"I've been living in Japan for the past year", lucky you  I'm on a similar situation like you, except I'm in a place the complete opposite of Japan . Anyway, from what you say I guess you want something good on the 英和-和英 sides of things. I made a thread some time ago, did you see it? B...

Re: Enka albums recommendations? (example inside)

Well... more than 100 views, quite an achievement. I don't know much about enka or that song... but I found a few artists at my local store. 八代亜紀 (Yashiro Aki), 石川さゆり (Ishikawa Sayuri) and 坂本冬美 (Sakamoto Fuyumi) for a start. A whole new style of music, it's awesome. Till now I've spent the most time...

Enka albums recommendations? (example inside)

Hi  I was playing WarioWare Inc. Mega Microgames the other day on my PSP and I fall in love with one of the background songs. Looking around I found it's labeled as 演歌 (enka). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=svIRy6hmiWw I see there's a thread here about this genre, but it's too old so I'm ma...

Re: Looking for a 電子辞書... suggestions?

Sorry for this very late reply... and thanks for the answers. But now 電子辞書s are completely out of the question. Due to my crappy country "regulations" I can't buy any foreign currency and, even if I could use my printer to make USD, I can't have them out of the country. With the "communist" approach...

Re: Looking for a 電子辞書... suggestions?

I see... those top of the line models include several 大辞典, like the one you say with over 200.000 entries. Are they really useful for everyday use? (even if they are the best). The A9800 is still expensive and almost no where to be found (I don't know who to trust for a 2nd hand and it would have to...

Re: Looking for a 電子辞書... suggestions?

Not here I'm afraid. Everything from Apple in this country is 2, 3 times (or even more) the price of the US. It's insane. And if I have to import I'd prefer to pick a proper dictionary, as I give little use to a smartphone (browsing internet when there's wifi available, a few pics maybe and as a reg...

Looking for a 電子辞書... suggestions?

Hi! I'm looking for an electronic dictionary, max 300 USD (24000 JPY). I'm just a beginner now, I had JLPT N4 last year, so my focus would be more on the Japanese<->English part. But, given how hard is to import something in my attempt-of-a-country, I'd like to get something to last a lifetime of le...

Re: Looking for "brush" or "handwriting" font to make a pend

Thanks! And I forgot to update the thread when I found the font :P "Square block typeface", yes, I found it the hard way. After downloading a pack of 300 Japanese fonts (2GB, lol) I stumbled upon a very similar one to the 愛 I posted, called "グレコ Std M" ( link where you can enter a sample ). There it...

Looking for "brush" or "handwriting" font to make a pendant

Hi nice ppl! I found someone that makes kanji pendants. He has the standard ones for Chinese horoscope, love, peace and some more, but I asked and he can make customs, if I provide an accurate model of it. I want Sakura <3, but I yet have to find a font suitable to base the pendant on. It's not the ...
