Japanese Radio

Well i've tried lots of japanese radio stations but most either play songs only or they have like 5 minute conversation and then 3 songs in a row. Do you have any reccomendations about conversation radio stations or even news-only ones? * *Of course due to my living location (Europe) i always look a...

Re: 二つ同じような漢字を見つけたけど・・・

My best guess is that it's the same Kanji. This can happen in Japanese. See for example 晩 which stands for "nightfall" and 晚い which is again "late evening", practically the same meaning. Notice how the angle of the vertical stroke at the right radical differs from the first Kanji to the second*. At ...

Re: Love music !

Looks like what you are seeking for is imperative . You can still use 好け which is the imperative plain form of 好く(to love, to be fond of)。The given phrase would become 音楽が好け (it's up to you to - for example - add a な or よ at the end). I personally wouldn't add 大 in front of 好け to escalate the feelin...

Re: Love music !

I don't know the constructions other than A wa B desu... You shouldn't use online translators like google and depend on them for syntax purposes. Also But wouldn't that mean I love music ! I don't know if you wanted to place "that" before "wouldn't" or you intented to use a question mark instead of...

Re: Love music !

From my small experience Japanese prefer adjectives when expressing feelings, for example when they are scared they won't say 脅かした!(あびやかした!) but 怖い! (こわい!). The most natural would propably be 音楽が好き(I would add な at the end, it "feels" more natural to me than leaving it hanging). And する should go ver...

Dumping class for self studying??

Actually I'm not quite sure about whether this question should go to the learning tips subcategory or here. I've studied a year japanese in a class of 10 students.Sensei was phenomenal but thing is pace was slow (6 hours a week) and the other students in the class were very noisy. I am supposed to t...

Re: Improving your listening skills

Thank you for your help, I guess the key is keep practicing having in mind what you both said. :D Thank God the anime kingdom is vast, a Japanese learner shouldn't have a problem practicing this way. For everyone reading the topic I should just point a problem raised many times by future japanese le...

Re: Improving your listening skills

Where do you find Japanese subs? I find it almost impossible to track any. I as a beginner find it very difficult to follow Japanese conversations without subs. Maybe there are courses which help? I've started recently the "Mastering Japanese by Ear" book and although it's still early I can say it's...

Improving your listening skills

What do you reckon is the best way to improve your listening skills? Some say it's a matter of vocabulary, meaning the most words you know the more you'll be able to understand from an audio segment. Others imply that it's all about building a language "sensor", which ultimately leads to thinking in...
