Japanese Video Podcast Reviews?

I have been looking for Japanese podcast lessons but unfortunately many of the places that I've looked which seem the most promising require paid subscriptions and have only a few free podcasts. Anyway, I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. I'm thinking about just trying to lis...

RE: Japanese Literature... Which would you recommend?

I'm reading Murakami's "Wind-Up Bird Chronicle," in English, though. But I still find it REALLY good. It's super strange but funny and it sucked me in.

IME hotkeys

Hey, is there a special hotkey shortcut for changing the 'kana status' on the IME toolbar? I love being able to switch between languages with the Alt+Shift, and switch to kana with the Alt+` but the whole point is defeated if I have to maximize the toolbar anyway just to click the kana button.

RE: おはなし

Anyone else have examples of this -tto usage? This isn't the first time that it's come up in my readings. Dictionaries that I have don't usually have these 'contractions' (if I can call it that) or the "repeated" words (girigiri, etc..).

おはなし

I have been reading a book of kids' stories lately, but in the latest story there's a phrase that I just haven't been able to understand. This story is about a mischevious tanuki (aren't they all?) who poses as a statue so he can get the offerings. Anyway, I've bolded what I don't understand: 「いいなあ。...

RE: How would you feel if Japanese switched to romaji?

IMHO、if Japanese dropped kanji, whether for romaji or just pure kana, it just wouldn't be as fun. I like to mess with readings and stuff when I write it (make up my own readings for kanji, etc).

Deja vu...

I assume lone wolf would imply originality, but didn't someone just ask this a few months ago? Check this site
