RE: Age Group

Whoa... that is a surprising diversity.

There are teenagers that take it though? Good. That was my main concern.

Age Group

Is there a minimum age you have to be to take the JLPT? Also, what is the average age you have seen take the test?

My Name

Alright, I am turning my name into katakana, and I need some help.

My english name is Aaron Broder.

So does that mean my Japanese should be ロデエロン?
Or ロデエイロン? Or ロデアロン?

I think ロデ is the best way to go for my surname, but I am not too sure about my given name.

RE: White Day

Okay, I am not the best person to reply to this -- I am not exactly the elite source of Japanese culture. But from what I understand... In Japan, on Valentine's Day, girls give chocolates to the boys, no exception. Often, for someone close, the chocolates are handmade, while for others, they are sto...

Kanji Question

Alright, I've have read an innumberable number of threads on Kanji, but I have a question that I haven't been able to find (sorry if it has been asked): Is there really that few Kanji? Weird wording, I know, but people are always saying how you really don't need to know all that many, that it is a l...

Hey! It's me again. I didn't get a straight answer last time I asked about materials for learning kana, so I am going to ask about a specific product: Tuttle Kana Flash Cards. Are these good for learning and reincforcing kana? And if not, can I get a straight answer on some good kana learning materi...

RE: Kana Books

I dont know where the arguments are, somewhere in this internet. And I'm not talking about TJP, im talking about this Remembering the Kana: The Hiragana / The Katakana, by James W. Heisig (Amazon link)

Kana Books

Hi! I have a few questions. First, which Kana should I learn first? I have heard arguments in both directions. I have no preference as to which I learn first. Next, I heard that "Remembering the Kana"'s katakana section is lacking, while the Hiragana is fantastic. Does anyone have any suggestions as...

Hey!

I have been reading this site for a while and finally felt like joining up. I have not started learning Japanese yet due to a streak of bad book choices, but I will soon be getting good books because I know that people here have good advice.

So... thats it.
