RE: I'm here to help you.

Now to add more confusion to the debate: "Use commas to set of nonrestrictive elements. Do not use commas to set off restrictive elements. . . Because it contains essential information, a restrictive element is not set off with commas. Restrictive: For camp the children needed clothes that were wash...

RE: Math

Sorry if this is off topic, but this made me think of something else. Do the japanese use different symbols for things like integration (∫), or even logs or summations? I always assumed that these things were international but I don't have much of a basis to think it.

RE: Japanese Names...?!

Is it pronounced like the english word "guy" or is it pronounced more like "gi"? If it's "guy" then go with what Tspoonami said. If it's "gi" I think it would just be ギ.

Xenosaga Episode II: Jeseits von Gut and Böse (I think the subtitle is based off of the work of Nietzsche)
FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus
Mother 3 (hence the avatar)

I think I saw it on an episode of Monk actually. It just seemed to make sense that a cellphone may take a bit longer than a landline.

RE: Please Help!

Well, I knew it was possible but I was under the impression that it takes a few minutes with cell-phones, I guess not. Anyway, on topic, how much of that site did you actually do using HTML? It looked like a template thing to me. Well, I'm pretty sure it has to be a template because last I checked y...

One who does something

This may be an odd question but is there a way to say "one who (verb)". For example, in English we could says that one who paints is a painter or one who writes is a writer. I know this isn't always true in english because we wouldn't say that one who draws is a draw-er but is there a similar concep...

RE: Game text

Yeah, I loved Earthbound. My mom got it for me a long time ago for like $5 in a bargain bin. I must admit I was skeptical, but it turned out to be one of my favorite games of all time. So far there isn't a US release date for mother 3, but at least playing through the import version has rekindled my...

RE: Game text

Well, I know its generally not a good thing to revive a thread that's pretty much finished but I figured this question didn't merit its own thread. Anyway, I've noticed that at times there are little L shaped brackets around some words (an L on the left and a rotated one on the right). Is that just ...

I didn't realize that suru was irregular (should have checked the verb group page), that would explain why i couldn't figure out what verb it was. Thanks for the help.

Game text

Hello, recently I've been playing any import game, Mother 3 (the sequel to Earthbound), and I figured that while I was playing it would be good motivation to learn japanese. I've been able to translate a few of the more common menus but have been having trouble with the save screen. It reads: ぴょん. セ...
