Re: What is it like to be a 外人?

I remember when I spent 2 weeks there traveling to different areas I felt welcomed and great. There were tons of foreigners there, given it was the summer, so it was nice to see people who looked like me lol. I never lived there though so I wouldn't know but there are tons of youtubers who record an...

Re: Who is this guy!?

Is there anyone that can help me find one of his commercials from last July 2008?
I don't remember much, all I know is that he had a drink and it was very short.
I've tried youtube, yahoo, and even searched for tv shows from 2007-2009 trying to find commercial info for them and nothing:(

For all your JET questions I refer you to this man, Jason. http://www.youtube.com/user/myargonauts
Those videos have helped me so much! He has been in Japan on the JET program for 5 years and can answer any question you have.

Re: Give up using chopsticks?

On that note, it seems that most foreigners get uptight about the "right" way to do everything in Japan. Perhaps, foreigners are just too uptight to begin with, and should loosen up a bit..  I just remembered another point. This doesn't just apply to foreigners and Japan. My ex w...

Re: "dating rules in japan"

I honestly don't know how anyone can open up a relationship with a woman(or man) by having sex off the bat. I have friends who just want to have sex with anyone at any time, I simply reject that idea because you don't know what your getting yourself into. I agree with the idea of being yourself........

Yudan Taiteki wrote:It is also possible simply to write the adjectives after each other, i.e. 新しい青い本. In this case it's a new [blue book] rather than a [new and blue] book.
Really? I don't remember Genki saying that, or my sensei. Good to know though.

Re: I wanna live in a more pure culture, like JAPANs

I would wonder what his wife would have to think of this. Tell him about all the process he would need to go through to become a citizen, visa, actually getting a job, etc. It'll be hard but it can be done. But it can only be done if he has a good head on his shoulders and really knows what he's get...

I haven't learned this form yet but forms like はあります is used in the second part of the なら form sentences.
ex: ドイツなら行きますが、日本は行きません。

Re: Life in Japan, real or not?!

.... all I said was that Japan ought to bury its power lines. Maybe there's a geological reason they don't. .... I suspect it's more likely to be an economic reason. Why should Japan bury its power lines anyway? For ascetic reasons? Or is there some benefit to buried power lines (which requires mor...
