ok and just ONE more question.
the guide says は means ha, but I've seen people use this for "wa" a couple of times now. What the hec is the difference? :@ I am so confused

I tried buying a book for Japanese, the books title was Japanese for Dummies, and it was all telling you phrases how to get along in the country without truly having to learn the language. vowel lengthers....which means what?
sorry, I am totally inept when it comes to hiragana and katakana. :(
also, this book shows a few symbols and then after like 3 or 4 symbols, it'll have something that looks very very much like a comma. would that be seperating words, or something? :o :o :o
