Setting Meiryo font as a default font in Windows XP?

I'm sorry if I posted this topic in the wrong section, but some time ago I downloaded a so-called ClearType Tuner add-on from Microsoft website for my Windows XP, and what it does is that it replaces Arial and some other common fonts with a new ClearType font, and the result is following: http://img...

Re: Jdrama

Here is a small list and little descriptions about each drama I've seen: Hana Yori Dango This was my first drama and I enjoyed it, there is some romance too, which is my favourite genre. Only thing I regret that the first episode I saw was from the first season. When I started the second episode, an...

Re: Languages

Italian isn't as complicated as japanese so why not tag along an easier language and learn both simultaneously? Of course some small mix-ups may happen but they're not a big deal once you get used to both languages, but remember, confidence is the key to learning languages. Off topic: About mixing u...

Good textbooks for korean?

Hello. My friend is going to be an exchange student in South Korea next year, and she's looking for some good resources for learning the korean language. I saw this one textbook in http://www.thejapanshop.com, but don't know alot about it. So if anyone here knows some good textbooks for korean, can ...

RE: Translation?

I don't think that's japanese, because the very bottom kanji in the last picture looks like the chinese version of the kanji 国

Also, is that sword yours now? Because that could be worth alot of money if it has some historical worth.

RE: 母語は?what´s your mother tongue?

Finnish and Estonian. I was born in an Estonian family, where I was immersed in the Estonian language, and we visited our cousins in Estonia twice a year. But I'm still better in Finnish because I live in Finland, and have to use it everywhere. My vocabulary in Estonian is limited and my cousins tel...

RE: A thank you to Mr. Cash and everyone

It's nice to see how people react to the straightforwardness. I don't think that things should be sugarcoated, even in worst cases. Some people nowadays don't like strict and straightforward responses. Those responses may often have a little pessimistic attitude, and that hidden "Give up"- message i...

RE: Age restriction for the JLPT?

There should not be any age restrictions in JLPT. I've heard that even some 9-year old girl was taking JLPT. Also, I filled my JLPT application forms when I was 13-years old, but I still didn't take the test though. I lost my motivation. :)
15-years is enough.

If you use Windows XP, then try to find your Service package 2 CD. That CD has the files for asian scripts if I remember correctly.
