At ~ you can buy ~ question.

I tried to write this phrase in Japanese: マーケットに果物や野菜や肉や花などを買い物しことがあります。 But I'm not sure it's correct. I'm trying to say, "At the market you can buy fruit, vegetables, meat, flowers and more." Does it make sense, even if it's not entirely natural? If not, could you correct me using simple grammar? ...

Re: Mr.ジェームス

If I go to Japan, I wouldn't be surprised if McDonald's ends up being almost the only there that I'd eat. :lol: I'm not crazy about McDonald's or anything, but it'd be easy western food. Me and my mum ended up at McDonalds quite a lot. Reason being it was the only food we could get that we could be...

Re: The Dec 6th 2009 JLPT registrations start today, Aug 3rd!

I'm going to try for the JLPT3 this year, having taken JLPT4 a couple of years ago. I'm not sure I'm up to scratch, but hey, I've got a few months.

Good luck, everyone.

自己紹介, Corrections!

ケイティといいます。でも、マッカと呼んでもいいです。自己紹介を書くのが下手です。21歳です。さきに大学を出ました。大学のとき、コンピューター・サイエンスを勉強しました。今、家で仕事をします。ウェブ・デベロッパーです。ひまの時に本を読んだり、ゲームをしたり、写真を取ったり、外国語を勉強したりするのが好きです。人並みです......人並みのギークです! I put this on my 'about me' page on my blog, and I know it's quite basic Japanese but I was wondering if anything I wrote di...

Re: "Wish me luck!" phrase, in Japanese?

Thanks for your responses. I actually wanted to use it in relation to a very selective application process. I was thinking of がんばります but I thought I should ask because somehow that seems too 'lighthearted'. Something that I might say before running a race, but maybe not something I'd say in this par...

Re: "Wish me luck!" phrase, in Japanese?

The problem is, those are all phrases related to wishing someone else luck. I meant a phrase requesting that people wish me luck. I mean is it appropriate to just do something like 「私に幸あれと祈る」? If it is appropriate, is it a common phrase? Or would the Japanese think it somewhat odd that I asked for p...

"Wish me luck!" phrase, in Japanese?

I know it's not exactly an insightful post or anything, and my question is quite short... but;

Is there a Japanese alternative to the phrase "wish me luck!"? Like how we would say if we were about to embark on something dangerous or difficult.

Re: learn kanji with Yo Mama jokes? Possibly!

I did read it; and I thought that the adult language others mentioned would be OTT (and thus not to my tastes) and sometimes, it is. But, I can't deny chuckling my way through it - some of the methods of teaching you've picked up on are things that I'm constantly wondering about. For example, teachi...

Re: IMPORTANT: Do you have Japanese fonts installed?

Like Sairana said, I am literally just gathering data for my project so that I can pass the damn degree! All decisions have to be justified, even the insignificant ones. This decision is pretty much insignificant, but I thought I'd add in a justification so that I don't miss out on any potential mar...
