Re: Translation for a cover of a colouring book

Re: Translation for a cover of a colouring book

Re: Translation for a cover of a colouring book

Re: Translation for a cover of a colouring book

Thank you very much for your help, that's alot better than what I had! It is a rather weird text indeed, in either language.
彼らが待っているのは…色だけです。
I think the artist means that the coloring pictures in the book are waiting for color, その塗り絵が待っているのは…色だけです。would be more clear perhaps?

Translation for a cover of a colouring book

I was asked today to translate the following piece into Japanese. It is for the cover of an adult colouring book. It is kind of shortnotice, they want to have the translation by sunday, and I was asked today. The terms and constructions used may be a little bit too much for my current level, therefo...

Re: Advice with reading manga

Good luck learning Japanese if you haven't mastered your native tongue yet. As for the advice, grammar grammar grammer! And vocab vocab vocab! Grammer being the most important one at first, after that (depending on the manga you try to read) build a huge vocabulary. At first try to pick a manga with...

Re: tabun

Well, don't try to translate english words into Japanese words, it won't work. You use もしかして only in a certain structure with a certain nuance, in other cases you use かもしれない and in again other cases you use a different construction to express a certain probability. I don't know if you use a textbook...

Re: What are the limitations of 的?

目的 【もくてき】 (n) purpose; goal; aim; objective; intention It seems hard to apply any grammar rules to it, my advice is to just study it word by word and use the words you know are correct. I doubt 犬的, or 犬らしい for that matter, sounds like natural Japanese. 犬のように is defenitly correct, perhaps 犬みたい could ...

Re: Intermediate, upper-intermediate textbook

That looks good, I'll print it out and give it a try!

I also decided to buy the book I mentioned in my first post, just want to keep myself busy untill my Kanji knowledge is sufficient enough. Thanks everyone, for the suggestions and advice.

Re: Intermediate, upper-intermediate textbook

When it's a drama centered around daily life relationships (Hana yori dango for example), on average I understand about 70/80% of what's being said. The only problem is vocabulary during the time I don't seem to understand what they're saying. And usually I just look up the word immediatly and can c...

Re: Intermediate, upper-intermediate textbook

Thank you for the replies! As for learning from real life material, my lack of kanji knowledge poses somewhat of a problem. I have no trouble watching a dorama without subs, or mailing with my friends. However reading a daily column introduces so many new kanji that I find myself looking up pretty m...

Intermediate, upper-intermediate textbook

During my study in Japan for 3 months I finished both Genki II and 中級へ行こう in a small classroom environment. Aside from that I spoke pretty much only Japanese every day, in and outside of the classroom. Now I'm wondering which textbook I should start using next, I came across An Integrated Approach t...
