RE: Validity of the certificate

Question is how do you maintain your level?
I took JLPT 3 in 2003, (failed, but only because of my lacklustre attempt at learning kanji), but even speaking with my girlfriend everyday I've lost so much, (I'm realising that now I'm due to take the test again in a matter of weeks!!!).

PARTICLE HELP!

I am taking level 3 of the JLPT this year, and am OK with the kanji and vocab but my usage of ga, ni, he, kara, ha etc is probably going to make me fail!!!

Any suggestions????

RE: Offensive Term?

All terminology can be seen as offensive, it depends on the person and with what venom it is spoken. I have no problem with my gf and friends calling me gaijin, if it was a stranger I would be offended. And as for the British not understanding that using the term Jap. is offensive, that's utter rubb...

RE: JLPT level 3

I took level 3 last year, (failed, but only because of the kanji), the listening was fine, in fact if you can do everything upto chapter 30 in the minna no nihongo books you should be fine. Practise compound kanji's though...

Japanese based story.

Hello people, With the idea that two heads are better than one, many must be absolutly fantastic. I've starting writing a story that will have a lot of Japanese culture in it, and although I can use a lot of my own experiences from when I was in Japan, I still need some pictures of the country for s...

If you're running pre-windows 2000 go to the microsoft website and you can download Japanese, or if you're using 2000/XP you can load it from the CD.

RE: hi all - some simple quesions from me

I've got to disagree, learning hiragana first helps you understand the sounds of Japanese, when/if you start studying from books solely written in Japanese the kanji (should), always have the reading for it in hiragana. My teacher whilst I was in Japan taught the class hiragana first, (it's surprisi...

They don't exist - and I don't think the Japanese are going to create a whole new sound in their language. Japanese sometimes use marui to space characters apart?
