RE: Is this correct?

Okay, thanks, will bear 母 in mind. I initially looked up deaf in the WWWJDIC, and found various colloquial phrases, but no appropriate adjectives. So I had a look in a minidictionary I have, which only listed 耳の聞こえない with no explanation. I did think it seemed a bit literal...

Is this correct?

I felt like translating something that popped into my head into Japanese, so I looked up the relevant vocabulary.

母さんが耳の聞こえない子供を教えます。

I'm pretty sure it's grammatically correct, but I just wanted to check.

Thanks in advance.

A と I don't understand

I've been having a go at making sense of the first story in Read Real Japanese by Janet Ashby, which is a cautionary tale by Mori Youko. There is a grammatical construction in a sentence near the beginning that I don't understand. For those who wish for context, we are introduced to Yumi-chan, who 3...

Ok, thanks people... now I get it. :| Mike Cash wrote: The point, OP, is that if you can't recognize something as basic as the difference between る and た then during the course of your Japanese learning you have managed to skip right past some very fundamental elements. 信じてた vs. 信じてる

What is the difference between 信じてた and 信じてる? As far as I can tell they are both colloquial shortenings of the ~ている form of 信じる but the following text (taken from a game) suggests they have a different meaning:
信じてた。
……いや、信じてる。

Could someone please clear this up? Thanks in advance.

I meant:

"Instead of reconsidering that, I think you would be happier if you reconsidered love."

RE: 見直したより、惚れ直したの方が嬉しい

Ah, I see, thanks.

I'm afraid I don't know the context... someone quoted it from an anime episode that I haven't seen and I was trying to work out what it meant.

Could the happiness refer to either the speaker or the person she is talking to?

見直したより、惚れ直したの方が嬉しいかな

I'm trying to translate this phase... the closest I can get is:

"I wonder it is happier to have fixed love than to have had a better opinion."

How close am, and can someone please help me with the actual translation?

Thanks.

Ok, thanks... I think "あなたは100兆の細胞がある" would be right then, as I intended to put it in a sig.

RE: 百兆匹の細胞が有る

I misunderstood the verb in your second sentence... do you mean "your body contains 100 trillion cells"?
