RE: Princess Kiko pregnet

I know that if there is no male heir, the Japanese government would have to re-write their constitution, (it is a constitution right?) but would that mean that they would rid themselves of the monarchy system?

RE: English must be difficult for non native speakers

Take it from a student, English is hard, but I feel a bit accomplished because I have learned a language (English) that is ranked 5 in the difficulty categories in language. Now I just wish I was that good at Japanese. (also a rank 5)

RE: Writing poetry in Japanese

Well, we're all informed about haiku, but I have heard poems in more free styles with less rules on its form. I know pillow books, fans, and parties were popular places to read/record people's poems. (especially the wealthy, educated, and court nobles) I also know in times like the Heian peroid, and...

RE: Looking for advice on learning kanji and any other teens

The simple kana went easy, but I'm having more trouble with the Knaji, grammar, and sentence structure with long or complex...

RE: Historical locations in Japan?

Japan is covered with history. In Kyoto there are hundreds of temples, sword smiths, (if you know hewre to look) dojo's, and Gion is pretty cool. There are a lot of castles and museums in almost all big cities, as well as small. You could visit battle fields or go to some WWII exhibits. http://www.j...

RE: english song titles?!

Well I have heard a lot of songs are titled in English. In fact most of the music on my iPod that is Japanese is titled in English. They even throw in English in the songs almost randomly. But our music does influence Japan greatly. I can't give you a good ratio or percentage, but there are enough t...
