Re: 8.9 Magnitude hits Japan (Miyagi Prefecture)

Thanks Nilecat for updating us. I feel relieved to hear from our TJP members that they are not really affected as they live far away from the disaster zones. My prayers extend to people who are still isolated from the rescuers and their loved ones, and also to people who have been moving out areas a...

Re: What is a petraphone?

As we all know, China is one of the world's most ancient civilizations with a recorded history of more than 5000 years. Re: ~ が ほしがる / ~ を ほしがる ?

Just want to add, I think the thing that confuses most people is probably, they are not told がる by itself is a suffix. It can be a suffix to 形容詞 or 形容動詞の語幹、名詞、希望の助動詞 like 「たい」 to 「た」。

Refer to Tea Kim's explanation on がる.

This word 段 is made up of 殳( shū) radical. 殳 is an ancient weapon, please take a look at this picture . It's like your hand is holding a weapon (殳) and you keep hitting on a rock, thus it produces sound. And, when you hit the object hard enough, it will also break into pieces or parts. I have never ...

Heartburn? Do you mean physically or mentally? :P Touch wood, I've never had bad heartburn before. I learn to stop and relax after an intense hours of work, take a deep breath, stretch a bit, make myself a cup of nice tea, and let go of my anxious moments. I'll listen to music, and do things with fr...
