I can confirm that indeed they do. I live in South Africa (another region 2 area) and I have been able to order anime DVDs from amazon.co.jp with no trouble in the past. I usually received them within a week.

Re: Word Game

I think I have it.

Am I correct if the word I'm thinking of does not have two equally sized 金s and the addition seems to be too long  ?

Why? Err, that seems to be the answer :D Why err on this?

Re: Japan Railroad Signs and Signals

I know it's a somewhat obvious place to look for information, but have you tried reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_railway_signals ? I doubt whether it is more comprehensive than Mike's link, but I think it is worth a read. By the way, were you specifically looking for a Japanese article...

Re: When/during

I still don't know why you went through such awkward trouble to hide her gender just to confirm it in your next post. Protecting one's identity is one thing, butchering the English language at (seemingly) the whim of a non-native speaker is another. -Eric Ouch! I guess I deserved that, didn't I? I ...

Re: When/during

Thanks to you both, spin13 and richvh. I usually try not to discuss grammar in too much detail with my pen pals, but in this case my friend studies English at college. I totally agree that grammar explanations are intrinsically convoluted and sometimes not worth the effort. I think I will be using y...

When/during

Hi there everyone. It feels strange to not post a question relating to Japanese grammar. This time I actually need help with English. I am currently helping out a pen pal with this person's English composition. (I know "this person" does not sound quite as natural as using the third person singular ...

RE: Language sounds

Please don't be offended by the following. I am just stating my perceptions from my early childhood (the time before I understood English). I used to think that English (especially American girls' accents) sounded somewhat like a cat's meowing. Strangely enough, as soon as comprehension set in that ...

RE: Malfunctioning Satellite

As far as I can tell, your dictionary definition is correct. "Window" in this context means a "time of opportunity". In this context "open(s)" means "start/begin". So when the window "opens", the time frame during which an opportunity exists, starts. What they are saying is that they will have 7 to ...
