Yoko Ishida's 'Sweets'
Angela Aki 'Home'
but Yuki Kajiura's 'Fiction' is my current favourite! Kajiura has an amazing voice!

Re: Funny. The (Japanese) Office (in Japanese)

What was really neat about this Japanese version is the humor is universal. It made the rounds on live journal and I know not many people there understand Japanese. Everyone who saw it including my youngest thought it was hilarious!

Re: Environmental question

The rainy season began here in Tokyo. We need to do something for keeping from a mold. Does he read Japanese? Yes! He is fluent and has been teaching himself ... for a long time! Anything you would like to pass on I can always copy and paste in an email to him. Like myself, it takes a lot for him t...

Re: Environmental question

Where is the mold growing? He didn't say but I'm sure it is mostly in the bathroom, since his lifestyle is quite spartan (The only items he has currently are a borrowed desk and futon. He has been waiting for his scholarship monies to be released, and then he has to get a refrigerator). Its been a ...

Environmental question

Hello All! I have a question regarding cleaning in Japan. My son is in Tokyo and is having problems keeping the mold in his apartment under control. He does not want to use bleach as it will remove color from some of the places the mold is growing. I have already told him to invest in a de-humdifier...

Re: Which one is hiranaga/katakana

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you're at the point where you don't know the difference between hiragana and katakana, you're not going to be able to make heads or tails of the text in the rice cooker instructions :D Thank goodness they had an English translation! :) Welcome to TJP forum. Which one is hiranaga/katakana

Its time for another off the wall question! I was looking into ways of practicing my Japanese through reading. It dawned on me that my rice cooker came with instructions in Japanese. I pulled them out of the kitchen drawer and was perplexed. On the cover were three different languages I could not id...

Re: My son has cancer

Hi Rich. As a parent with a son in Japan, I can feel your heartache! Not being able to do anything right now. Is there any way they will allow you to see him or visit him? Will they be sending him home?

You are both in my thoughts and prayers,

Re: Your guys's

I think this is a regional problem. When staying in a rural part of Texas, we stopped for lunch with a large group of friends. The waitress inquired about when we would like to have our iced tea: before the food, or after the food? But it came out like this: "Y'all want y'all's iced tea with y'alls ...
