Western thought usually says you can only be a part of one religion. Yet in eastern thought there is no limit to how many religions one can be a part of. I get what you are saying but really it boils down to what truth is; not what religion is. If truth is absolute (and there can only be one truth)...

Another question:
Assuming the Japanese couple celebrating their wedding are not Christians; do they perceive their special day as nothing more than Cosplay or do the religious elements (eg the prayer / blessing) have some significance?

Good, so if the reality is in fact 'most' regard it as an acting job (there are estimates of 80% of celebrants are not ordained) and if market forces fully functioning (commonly I hear 'the participants don't care'); then why are there such requirements of celebrants?
