Re: hechamukure

Okay, I've looked at the kana links.

From what I can pick out (my Japanese being still very weak)

a へちゃむくれ is:

1. a coward.
2. a useless person
3. an insult a stronger person would use to put down a weaker person.

Am I getting close?

Thanks

hechamukure

Okay, saw this used as an insult in some anime on Youtube, and I wondered:

what in the world is a hechamukure (へちゃむくれ)? I can't find it on the EDICT, and even Google fails me. :(

Anyway, thanks.

- 44. Whenever someone gets too skilled at anything, they end up with the fate of the world in their hands!!!

e.g. "Muahahaha, I will take over the world with my mad pancake flipping skills!"
"Noo I will beat you with the heart of the frying pan!"

Female First-Person Pronoun

Hi Everyone, I want to write short stories to practise my Japanese. One of my main characters is a heterosexual female in her early twenties. Actually I thought thought the board was made in April 2008... *blush* Had I realised it was 2007, I wouldn't have replied. Nevermind, then.

Re: Penis Festivals....

Yeah, but Chinese used to have "hangups" over showing women's feet, and Japanese have "hangups" over maintaining social order.

Everybody has their hangups; it's just that we loose all sense of anything called 'tolerance' whenever we talk about Christianity.

-35. When someone says/does something crazy, everybody falls headfirst on the ground with their legs in the air. No matter how hard said ground is, no concussions will ever result.

Hello Everyone

Hello, Everyone

I'm new here. I've been teaching myself Japanese for a few months, and found this site through your textbook section. I'm mainly looking for somewhere to hang out and practise Japanese.
