If you are around N4 level or have taken about two years of College Japanese, it is possible, but you will need to dedicate a lot of time to studying.

N3 Study Group?

I would like to propose a Study Group for those who plan on taking JLPT N3 this year. I don't quite have all the specifics, but I am thinking that the group would use the N3 Sou Mattome books, due to their low cost, and ease of use. I was also thinking of the Tobira book, but it is not specifically ...

Re: An Introduction to Modern Japanese By Richard Bowring

I wouldd just like to add that the Kanji count is much higher. I think it's closer to 1000, as you learn about 20 or so Kanji each lesson

Re: Integrated Approach or Tobira? (Or both?)

I have both of these books, havent' really gone too deep with either one, but here's my impression from skimming thorugh them. Tobira. Has more activities. Online resources More Kanji Grammar is slightly more advanced, but shouldn't be a problem if you did well wtih your beginner books. I am working...

Re: Success with Heisig?

Perhaps I should have elaborated more. People who are successful with heisig are usually only successful because they come from traditional methods which they seem to detest soo much. I believe most people who have heisig as their intro to Japanese quickly give up, usually due to the fact that peopl...

Re: Success with Heisig?

I'd like to know how successful you have been with Heisig's kanji learning method. I'm particularly interested in hearing from those who are at least at an intermediate level of Japanese and have studied for several years. I've heard many glowing reviews from people who have only studied for a shor...

Re: What do you think this sentence means?

Thanks for the input, I'm really just looking to continue the discussion we had in class. I went with number three, only because it was the one that seemed the least awkward.
