Getting logged off...

I don't know if this is due to a time-out policy of the TJP servers, or if I have to blame my DHCP (we have an IP address leasing time of two hours), so I'd like to ask if anyone else has this problem...

When I write long replies or PMs which take more than, say, 20 minutes to write, I hit the "Post" or "Send" button, and I am redirected to a page with the message "Only for logged in users". Needless to say, the text doesn't get posted, nor can be retrieved in any way. I cannot tell you how many things I wrote got lost this way.

Mind you, it's a very good exercise to write the same things over and over again, but sometimes this is really annoying... Why does my login get dropped so often? Other than writing things with notepad and then copy-pasting, are there any workarounds for this problem?

do you click the little box below the password field when you login? also, do you bookmark the site? sometimes i've clicked a link in a post to http://thejapanesepage.com (note the missing www at the front) and it appears to have logged me out. other than that, i think what you've described has only happend to me once or twice in the 7 or so months i've been here.

I sometimes experience it if I have been online for a long time. I don't know why that happens.

You can actually retrieve your text. Hit the back bottun and it should be there. That works for me. Then I just login again and post it.

I do hit the back button of my browser (IE), but all the text fields are empty... Should I use Firefox instead?

My bookmark points to http://www.thejapanesepage.com plain and simple... My login procedure then is to highlight the login box, and write SaigoNoBan [TAB] (password) [ENTER]. Is anything wrong with this?

Anyway, we've had some other issues at the 会社 because of the IP leasing policy (they are actually planning to further reduce the time because we are running short of available addresses) , so I'm glad I can rule that one out.

click the box next time, it gives you 30 days of cookie instead of 3 hours...
