Recent/newest threads
Hello!
This is not really important, but little details make a big difference
.
Anyway, usually the first thing I do when I come to the site is look at the "recent threads" (which is much better than going forum through forum searching for new messages). However, there doesn't seem to be a direct link to the recent threads in the main page. I thought it would be nice to have one, in order to spare some clicks and load time. Now, there are already these "Newest Threads", and I thought that maybe the title "Newest Threads" could be made clickable as a direct link to the recent threads?
What do you think?

I think if you look left and down a bit you should see

"Recent/newest threads"

That list doesn't let you see any threads older than the tenth most recent. I think Tanuki is looking for something one click quicker than [Discussion Forum]->[Recent Threads], which is the first step to see a more complete list.

YOUR recent threads? Hm...I think there isn't a way to do that. Or maybe I just don't know it...

RE: Recent/newest threads
Re: no quick link for recent threads -- use a bookmark, at least that's what i do. the recent threads page is not native to PHP-Fusion, it was one of the first bits of custom code i added, mainly to scratch a personal itch.
Re: My Recent Threads -- on the Super Thread View select My instead of All and it will show the threads you started.
Re: My Recent Posts -- i wanted to implement this, but sadly... PHP-Fusion is evil... and showing specific posts (instead of threads) is difficult to do.
back when the server move was in the planning stage it was my intent to completely dump the evil that is PHP-Fusion and convert the forums and everything else to use some other backend code. probably Drupal. every time a new feature is requested, or something doesn't work the way it should and i think about fixing the problem, i remember that PHP-Fusion is the most horrible, poorly designed, poorly implemented by half-a-dozen monkeys pile of **** that i've ever laid eyes on and i realize that i don't want to spend the time patching it up and working around it's evil.
every once in a while i consider making the change to Drupal, working through all the difficulties involved and bracing myself for the inevetable: "OMG I LIKED THE OLD SITE BETTER, PUT IT BACK NOW PLEASE!!!! I HATE THIS NEW THING THAT IS UNFAMILIAR
:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:("
maybe someday...

RE: Recent/newest threads
Clicking a thread in the
"Newest threads" box should
automaticly take the user to
the last page of the thread.
Instead one has to click >
or >> everytime the thread has
grown beyond one page. Ok,
it really isn't that big deal
but it would be a nice thing to
have.
