You have to understand that the very nature
of this forum differs greatly from e.g. the
gaming forums. This site and the forums are
for the most parts dedicated to the language
and the culture. Eventhough we let loose and
have some funny and outlandish off-topic talk
from time to time, the overall atmosphere of
our forums is highly study oriented and
pedagogic because of our excellent professionals,
native helper(s?), and study eager users.

The fact that many gaming forums don't have
the same quality that this forum has, like you
said: they are like real life arcades where loud
kids run around screaming on coffeine high, is
no reason why we shouldn't maintain our
quality control and this thread even proves
that some people are willing set the bar even
higher. And yes, you haven't been here long
enough to see how many people constitutes
your "few random guys who ask silly question".
For the record, this is just how I perceive
this forum and these are only _my opinions_.

It's true that i've been mostly to the wrong kind of forums. A place where you aren't greeted by babbling morons who think "U" is a word is a nice breath of fresh air. You said it yourself, the very nature of the place ensures that many of these people aren't even going to consider coming here.

Hmm I guess that COULD be a good idea, but I do make a LOT of typos because I type to fast or TRY to type fast. I espesially make mistakes in the word "just" and "the".. Also I mgiht not seem to intelligent when I type but it's not really my fault. But Yes I agree with you some people are really annoying, espesially with PM's, people I don't even know or have never seen anywhere on the site PM me asking for my ASL..

i've been on various forums in the past, one of them being a tricking forum (for those of you who dont know what tricking is, think of it as a blend of martial arts and gymnastics). i'm glad i dont have to hear the word "noob!" on this site since i'm totally sick of it from online gaming and i'm also glad things arent as messy as they were on that tricking forum (i mean, i enjoyed being there at the time, but it was still a big mess - the frequent offtopic threads and lots of spam were often fun but there was also lots of people NOT reading faqs and getting yelled at, lots of people crapping around rather than discussing etc.).
