Grammar Pages (WagaWiki)
I've had a look at the grammar pages in the [wiki]Lessons[/wiki] and had a bit of a go at them but frankly they need a lot of work. Too many concepts are introduced in the first lesson and some of it is (was) just plain wrong. People with time on their hands could take a look.
Incidentally I thought a [wiki]Wish List[/wiki] might help spur things along a bit in WagaWiki. Everybody please add what you'd like to see.

Well I think I've got lesson one in rough shape.
Maybe I can get somebody else to go over lesson two.

Nice job. Sorry, grammar has never been my strong point. I guess it made it worse to make it simple and free from grammar jargon.

wihen i added them to the wiki i just based it on the names on here(so the grammar page 1 is what you get on here as the first page of grammar from the table in the grammar section)

Well it must have been put together for the first time a long time ago, right?

Free from grammar jargon isn't a bad idea in theory but sometimes people made up those words for a reason

Yes, a long time ago. I also have a bad habit of not going back to review what I have written years ago.
Thanks, I will be interested in seeing how the edited version comes out.

Don't get too carried away - I'm not sure I want to redo the whole lot.
I think what the [wiki]Grammar page 1[/wiki] could do with is some sort of basic dialogue that uses the concepts covered - a dozen or so sentences. I don't suppose anybody reading this could be persuaded to volunteer?

Maybe Tae Kim would let us mirror his writings on the wiki?
I really like the saying "You don't have to re-invent the wheel."

If someone can make the sentences, I can record Yumi reading them. Wouldn't work for a dialog since this town has a Japanese population of one (Yumi).
(Although, if a dialog would work better, I can get some friends to visit us and say 'by the way, would you mind reading this?'

ユミさんに悪いですから・・・。

There's always the traditional "visiting gaijin" approach.
Anyway, Keanatron does have a point about Tae Kim's guide.
The thing is that this could eat my time like nobody's business. It's not that I consider my efforts wasted but I don't want to be the only one stuck with the job. (Even if it was me who stuck me with it
So what I think I'll do is put the Grammar Page revision project on a backburner until somebody turns up who has the time to seriously work on it.
