searching posts by a certain member

when i wrote the superview.php page it was my intention to provide a 'my posts' and 'posts by user' function. i don't remember the details, but there was some little PHP-Fusion implementation detail that made it really hard to do. i may eventually go back and try again, but there are so many other things on the 'todo list'.....

a lot of the difficulty is the trade-off required for ease of use. it's pretty trivial to whip up a simple page that shows all posts by a user, but much more involved to do things like 20 posts per page or checking user name validity or coming up with error messages for invalid inputs or keeping everything themed so the pages look like other TJP pages or making sure to only give pages that a user is allowed to view... it's the little details and the absolute horror of PHP-Fusion that make what should be simple requests into hours and hours and hours of work.

you can now use the Search page to search for posts by a certain UserId. the easiest way to go about this is to Search Members for the username, move your mouse pointer over the matching name, and look at the link. for example: search Members for 'tanuki', in the results move your mouse over 'tanuki' and you'll see the link in your status bar: "http://www.thejapanesepage.com/profile.php?lookup=6010", 'tanuki's UserId is "6010". now you can enter '6010' in the Search box, select By UserId and find the posts by tanuki.

sorry it's a bit rough, the MySQL version on the server doesn't allow sub-selects
