Unable to update profile

I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but whenever I try to change my theme or change the time zone, it doesn't change.

After submitting the changes, "Profile updated" (or whatever the comfirmination is) shows, but nothing changes.

Is there a problem with what I'm doing, or what?

Maybe its just your comp.. restart it and try it again if it dosn't work .. try again later i guess..

egads. this was unexpected side-effect of patch to allow all characters in user location and signature. it's so hard to test things like this. do this: put something in your location and something in your signature, change the theme or whatever else and update. the bug happens when location or signature is empty.

this didn't happen with the patches to the forum or shoutbox because those don't allow empty fields anyway.

I dunno if you are meaning me (which I'm assuming so). If you are, then just basically I wasn't able to update anything in my profile because 2 fields were empty.

remember back when katakana 'so' wasn't displaying properly in the forums? this annoyed me, so i looked into the php-fusion code and made a patch to fix it. and all was well with the world. then i thought it would be nice to put in the same fix for user signature and location, only it didn't work because signatures and location are allowed to be empty, and empty things break my patch and silly me didn't think to test empty things....

so, as soon as Clay reads his email the patch will be removed and empty signature and location will work again, but some characters like katakana 'so' won't work in signatures or location.
