Someone to practice with...

Postby Astral Abraxas » Tue 04.29.2008 4:52 pm

Hey,

I was just wondering if anyone would like to practice via email/msn. I've been procrastinating too much lately and need something to apply the stuff I learn to give myself motivation.

Kind of a "study buddy" lol.

I'll PM anyone who responds and is interested with my email address.

I would be more than happy to study with you, I'm just picking up the language again and I'm still trying to remember what all I've learned.

May I study with you, too? I just picked up the language this year, and I need someone to practise with. It's kinda hard to remember what I've learned if I don't use it.

I'll practice ^_^
I have a friend who also learns Japanese, but it's harder talking to her as she doesn't know as much grammar and stuffs, but I think she probably knows more vocab than me =D

Yeah, I could use someone to study with as well. I've been slacking lately and need to practice what I've learned so far.

Why not do a chatroom via msn and maybe a yahoo group that way we could all participate.

I was thinking the yahoo group would be the useful one with the whole mass e-mail thing. Of course I've never found anyone online on the chat program here.

Well, if you set up a mailing list (which is what Yahoo Groups and the non-Usenet portion of Google Groups is), you need someone actively moderating it, or you either end up with it dying since no one can admit new blood when the list owner loses interest (though it could die from lack of activity even if moderated), or deluged with spam.

not too bad. Only 2 months. ;)
I think one day I'm going to go and find the oldest thread on the board and necropost it.

This is something that would nice to organize though.

For example if the site had a calendar of meeting times, people could 'meet' in the chat rooms or forums, or groups for specific purposes. I'm going to give this some serious thought while we are building the upgraded site. Obviously having someone to practice with/ask questions with is something a lot of people want.
