Very short text (Diary-like)

I've written a very short text like on a diary (I guess you would use informal forms in your diary, so that's what I did). Could you please correct it? Thanks a lot!

今日は母と市に行って、シャツを三つ買った。それから、私達は日本の品があるスーパーに行った。品は面白かったけど、とても高かったから、何も買わなかった。

This is what I wanted to say:

Today I went to the market with my mother and bought 3 shirts. Then, we went to a supermarket that has Japanese products. The products were interesting, but since they were very expensive, I didn't buy anything.

Note: I don't know the correct counter for clothing, so I just used 三つ... What is the correct counter?

I believe 枚（まい） is the correct counter for articles of clothing.

I wish I could understand more hiragana to katakana. Excite said its this: It went to the city with mother, and three shirts were bought today. After that, we were goods of Japan and went super. Nothing was bought because it was very high though goods were interesting.

I think 商品 is the much more common of the two (製品・商品） I don't think I've ever seen 品 just used by itself, though. 品物（しなもの） is also a valid choice.

Looking more at the sentence, in both the english and Japanese "product" sounds a little strange. I think just "things" 物 would sound more natural, but that may just be me.

As for the counting thing, while 三枚 would be the most correct, with general things like clothing and whatnot, 三つ is also fine.

Thanks a lot, guys, I'll learn from that mistake. Oh, and one question: Is it OK to use 市 for "marketplace"? Because I know it also means "city", so I wonder if someone would missunderstand what I wrote ("Today I went to the city with my mother..."). And... 市 is read いち, right?

Actually, you can use 市 for marketplace, but it has a high chance of being misunderstood.

市場 actually has two readings
しじょう is a market in the sense of a sales market or the stock market. Market share, etc. It does not mean a bazzar.

いちば is what most people think of when they think of a market, a bunch of small stores getting together to sell something.

I agree about 商品, but here in 関西 (kansai region), I see 品 by itself quite often in stores. There are huge signs that read 「広告の品！」 (lit. "advertisement goods"). In usage this means something more like "As advertised!", if I'm not mistaken.
