I can't quite get the bit in red - what's said there?

I couldn't work out how the file can be accessed - the link took me to a page where I see the file name and size details, but no link to download unless you enter a "受信PASS" to get the clip. What's the password?

I think you are correct in your edit. It sounds like あらがえない to me. 「自分で抗えない者」"Someone who can't (won't) fight for himself."

I just had a listen and to me it sounds like　
自分であらがえない（抗えない？）ものも波というのよ

Thanks, that bit makes sense then. The only bit that doesn't make sense to me now is that such people are called 'なみ' ? (I've never heard of a usage like that).

The bit before the clip was about various ways to define なみ - as 波動 etc.

I took the なみ to be 「並」 meaning average, or ordinary.

Hmm, possibly, although the person being referred to was far from ordinary in at least one respect.

波に乗る 【なみにのる】 (exp) to go with the flow; to go with the times
as the person in question was always following the lead of her sister and not choosing anything for herself.
