Um, so...
My handwriting isn't that good...nothing at all compared to the perfect penmanship I saw during my stay with my host family. But here are some pictures of my kanji project:

As an aside, lately in Japan there have cropped up a number of new books in which you trace the handwriting of famous calligraphers. I found that it's a great way to improve both my kana and kanji handwriting. If you have a Japanese bookstore nearby, you can easily find one. Here's an example on Amazon Japan (just search on this, I put a link in, but it took up to much screen for some):

Wow. This is cool. I should post something soon. If no one else posts anything before I do, I'll edit this and add a pic :).

Wee, thanks for reviving this thread :)

edits don't update the thread, so you are better off making another post.

Vhcoffee needs to fix his link.

Infidel:

At your suggestion I deleted the link because it seemed to cause problems.
I included a search string instead (the title of the book) for amazon.co.jp.

I'm nowhere with kanji, but I find this one very difficult for me to write in the correct stroke order, even though it's not very complex:

I didn't suggest you delete your link, I suggested that you fix it so that it was clicky.

Err, unless this one is non-standard it's just upper left box, upper right box, then the tai sign, then the lower left box and the lower right box.

@Teh_Freak: Are you left handed, by chance?

Nope, right handed. I've had plenty of people tell me I right like a left handed person though.

I was told by my Japanese friend that I have better handwriting than her brother...でも、ぼくの*彼女はいつも「汚い字」と言う。

I'll scan my 作文 later when I'm back at campus.

I have a question for you guys. I noticed that my kana was pretty ugly, but since starting on kanji it's much more pronounced. I noticed that when I write the characters normally (the way I write in English) they're most ugly. But when I don't write like English, but more stroke (just noticed the significance of this word) as if with a paintbrush they look much better. I've never seen anyone write in Japanese before, so is it more of a flicking/stroking thing or is writing "normally" the way it's done in Japan?
