I was about to say, "Holy crap, that's GREAT kanji! work!" and then I saw the address in Shanghai -- Are you really Chinese? That's almost cheating. ;)

Haha, I noticed that as well just after checking his handwritting.

Aren't the kana supposed to be the same size as the kanji though?

Lol, ok, I studied 中国語 for a year, thats why I'm in Shanghai now, but I'm オランダ人. Still my hiragana & katakana is not nice enough I think, but I do think it should be slightly smaller than the kanji (cus kanji have more strokes), at least I saw all my japanese friends write like that. Thanks for the feedback anyways :D
* and do take calligraphy lessons! it DOES help with writing kanji!

大家好,我現在在上海学han語但是我真的是オランダ人,請多多guan照! (somehow some simplified characters don't appear)

您好!歡迎加入本站!
您在上海讀書嗎? 我也很驚訝,正如 Mr.Tony 所說的,您的華文寫得很好,很像華人的筆跡。

Admittedly, I cheated. I used a translator to help around the hard parts (i.e., most of it. ;) )

The annoying thing is that when I "read" Chinese, I'm reading it in a combination of Chinese, Japanese, and English pronunciations, depending on where I first learned the meaning/concept of the hanzi/kanji involved. Comprehension isn't the problem as much as *talking* or reading out loud. <whimper>
WHen I took wenyan, it was really tough, as I never got around to learning all the proper readings of many characters I already knew from classical Japanese.

Chikubi-san, no big deal :)
Sometimes we have many things on our minds and we cannot help but think about them at times. The dilemma is whether to bluff our way out and hope we get lucky, or confess that we were not honest.

華人縛刻o漂亮的字體並不稀奇。我最欣賞的是那些用了很長的時間,努力不懈,專心地寫出僅僅幾個字,字體卻非常端正的西洋人。
Chinese, being able to write Kanji beautifully, is not a rarity. What I appreciate most are those Westerners spending uncountable hours, focusing, striving very hard to simply write few words, but produce amazing handwriting!

每一步腳踏實地,每一事中規中矩,真也!
I've been longing to turn Papa upside down, inside out! Image
ぱぱ、加油!
