i wrote a very simple sentence & it turned out to be wrong after all, after i've busted my brain trying to pick the right words (I'M STILL KINDA NEW!!!! XD)
it goes like this:今日は、たのしいかった日！
カルピスを飲みましたと子猫を遊びにいきました。ありがとう。

and the correction for it was:今日は、たのしい日でした！ カルピスを飲みました。子猫と遊びにいきました。 ありがとう。

any1 for grammatical mistakes explination plz?

飲みましたと子猫を遊びにいきました。

First point 〜ます form is only used at the end of sentences in normal text. So 飲みました is wrong.

Second point と is not used for 'and' to join sentences.

今日は、たのしいかった日！

The rest of your text was ます form but that sentence is plain form, it needs a です (or as it's past tense でした).

It's a bit difficult to explain why it's たのしい日でした not たのしかった日です but I shall give it a try.

The first is "It was (でした) an enjoyable day (楽しい日)."

In the second a 楽しかった日 is a day that is no longer enjoyable but was once enjoyable.

Also you wrote たのしいかった - in past tense it doesn't have the い.

You had that big sentence with two actions that had nothing to do with each other. So it was broken up into 2 sentences.

と is used for "with" so play with a kitten is 子猫と遊ぶ.

Or is that not the "と" you were referring to?

Well, you need to follow a noun predicate with a copula, and usually adjectives that precede nouns aren't conjugated. I think たのしかった日 (note correct spelling) has the feeling of "a day that had been fun", so some explanation about why it was no longer fun might be expected.

〜ました is almost always sentence-final. If you want to combine the two sentences (I drank Calpis and played with the kitten), you need to use て form. カルピスを飲んで子猫・・・

何々を遊ぶ is visiting a place rather than playing with someone/something. For that you need 何々と遊ぶ.

With the て form there is a strong sense of causality as well of time sequence. As there is absolutely no connection between drinking Calpis and playing with the kitten I think it would not be appropriate to use て form there.

Possibly そして

カルピスを飲みました。そして、子猫と・・・

Rather than 今日は、たのしいかった日！ I believe I would go with 今日は楽しい一日だった！
