I think I should have used 「に」 in place of 「で」 as Callum pointed out earlier in the thread.

OK, I thought that the 「ですから」 bit earlier in the sentence would achieve this effect. I guess I'll just have to be patient for the proper way to become apparent in my studies.

Yes, sorry about this. I know my Japanese spelling probably comes across as childish and awkward much of the time. I'm not actually meant to know the kanji for languages (although I do), so I left it out in the essay I submitted to my sensei.
