Am I the only one who thinks "Porco Rosso" would have made a great Bogart flick?

i own the movie, and have watched it multiple times, and i don't get it. it doesn't make sense to me. but i can't wait till Howl's Moving Castle comes out on DVD~ w00t!

i don't know. i just didn't understand it. but it really reminded me of Casa Blanca, my dad's favorite movie.

I prefer the book, Howl's Moving Castle, to the movie. But I first read the book about 15 years ago. The movie is great. Though the anti-war propaganda got old quick.

I haven't seen a Bogart movie and liked it, They are just as bad as Elvis movies.

is out. -sits in corner-
and i yet also have to get Totoro to have all of the Miyazaki Movies now in English.(excluding the IY movie i said up there. he didn't make that!)

I'm with you ishnar: the Howl book was much more entertaining than the movie, though Ghibli did a decent job. Howl's character in the book is so much more fun than his movie-character... though, he is pretty cute in the movie. XD

I enjoyed Porco but I must say that I haven't seen it enough to appriciate it on all the levels I know it could be (one thing I love love LOVE about Ghibli movies). Perhaps I'll watch it again this weekend... ^_^ But yeah, Tony, I can see Bogart playing a good Porco. Who else would you cast?
