Aa! Megami-sama!
Awesome series, hasn't had a very big impact on the states yet. Most people who are aware is the die hard manga fans both japanese and american. It's one of those anime that catches you off guard the moment you start watching the series! I've been digging into Naruto and Bleach, very action oriented, but Oh My Goddess is probably the opposite of these, in a good way! Good spirited and funny all the way, 2 thumbs up! Highly recommend taking a look!^^

I've seen some of the TV series on youtube.com and I have the original OVA series on DVD (the OVA is basicly a shortened version of the TV series, only 5 episodes long).
Does anyone know if you can buy the TV series on DVD? Even if it's a Region 1 (American) DVD.
I like Keichi's jacket, the one with K-1 on the back. Very smart idea, K-1. I've seen someone who called themselves "Ichigo" cause their birthday was the 5th of January.

Hai! You can buy the DVDs, I recommend http://www.discountanimedvd.com! The new Seasons add a lot more to what the OVA's did, which I find very cool. Oh, after watching them I recommend the movie made in 2000 as well, pretty sweet movie! Can't wait for Season 3... probably going to be made end of this year or start 2008. :p

Forgot to mention, I like Naruto aswell. I've got a Konoha/Leaf Village headband and a HUGE 2007 Naruto callender.
Unfortunatly I'm watching the English dub on youtube.com so I have to wait a week for new episodes

I've wanted to watch this, but I haven't yet. Though they do have a few of the manga at the library...
I might check it out soon, then :3 The synopsis sounds cool.

I've never really got into manga, however I hear from time to time that reading the manga before watching the anime can be a drag because you know whats going to happen. Which you should expect, although some people still complain lol? So just thought I'd throw that out before you dive into the manga!I've wanted to watch this, but I haven't yet. Unlike Naruto, the english dubbing isn't too bad, although just out of coolness that which is japanese i like to keep subs on. =) The voice actors in this series is just amazing.. voices fit perfectly (jp).
Heres a link to Kikuko Inoues (Belldandy) picture.

Well it's really a matter of opinion, I think the dub is quite good (altough Naruto's "Believe it!" was pretty annoying but thankfully he hasn't said it in about 20-30 episodes) , better than some others I've seen.Silvanoshei wrote:Yikes! The reason I don't watch subs (unless I have to) is 'cause I'm dyslexic, and I sometimes can't read the subs fast enough or I misunderstand what's being said.

RE: Aa! Megami-sama!
It depends on the series. Some change the plot significantly between the manga and the anime (for example, the original 魔法先生ネギま!)Silvanoshei wrote:

ah my goddess is a great series ive seen all the tv eps to date, the ova's, the movie and read all the manga to date, i love this anime. and as for reading manga before watching the anime, i agree with chris it all depends on the series, like ah my goddess, the anime follows the manga pretty well with a few differences, while others are very differenct form the animes, like love hina, there are so many differences in that its annoying, anyway....what were we talking about?
RE: Aa! Megami-sama!
I finished watching the first season on YouTube, and it was pretty good
Not my favorite, but I still enjoyed watching it, and I'd give it a pretty good review.

Re: Aa! Megami-sama!
My cousin got my addicted to this. Well, he got both my brothers and I addicted. Way back when, he brought the movie and OAV with him, we got addicted, and when I found out that there was a TV series, I downloaded it, watched it, and promptly bought the first season. Can't wait to get the second one, and I hope that more are made. There's lots of manga they can use!
Skuld rocks! Well, Belldandy too!
