The problem isn't the lack of please . The problem is "I would like you." which is a command. You mother or boss may tell you, "I would like you to (take out the trash)" but it is not ok for someone not in a position of authority to use, even with a please added. I have a hard time believing that you are a 21 year old Native English speaker that does not know this instinctively.

I don't care WHAT name you want to use (Xurma, Tanel, or FiveSeven), but pick an account and use IT only.

Having multiple accounts just grates on me as wrong.

What is it about the past few days that makes me think this is going to be a bad year?

Personally the main problem I have with this post is the same I have with other ones that pop up every so often on TJP from beginners -- "Teach me X", where X is some broad subject, with very little specific information, and no evidence that the topic creator is making any effort to learn about X on their own.

A similar thread was made a few days ago in the grammar section, where someone basically told us to teach them about が, but provided no information about their level of Japanese, what in particular was confusing them, what books they used, etc. Typically I just ignore those threads, but perhaps I should respond to tell the poster why I'm ignoring them.

That's a good idea. I'm thinking of writing a series of canned responses to queries addressing variously a lack of context, a lack of information about the poster's level of J education, lack of poster's English ability, lack of understanding of what "help me translate" means, lack of understanding of... well, just lack.

Haha, so you figured it out.
It's funny story because first I thought that I should make a whole new account. After I made it, I like the name Tanel only for second, then I made my FiveSeven account. After a moment I was still unsatisfied with the name and decided to go with Xurma again.

If it bothers you then delete those 2 accounts.

B)　katafei, I am the eldest of four sisters, and hang out in many places online where women outnumber men, so it's just habit by now.

Hmm... to get things vaguely back on something like topic, my mother has a particular phrase she uses which fits this thread. She uses it when suggesting people (often me or someone I'm dating ) have a less than ideal awareness of social cues etc. The phrase is: '(so and so) has no antennae'.

I don't know that I've even heard anybody outside my family use it (it may be a Canadian peculiarity, granted, as my mother is from there but I've never lived in Canada). Obviously it's not something that can be directly translated; any suggestions? Not so much 社会性のない, maybe more 感情のシグナルを読み取れません, but perhaps there is a better way of saying it?
