神戸新聞: My Japanese class was in the newspaper
Our local Japanese class took a field trip to a tea factory and was featured in the Kobe Shimbun. Some good reading practice if anyone wants to check out the article. Bonus points if you can read the place name with out googling.

いや、実は、主人が天ぷらにするのが面倒くさいから、友達にあげてしまいました。ああ、恥ずかしい。

揚げ物をご主人に頼むのはすばらしい考えです。
自分で揚げると食べる前に胸焼けがしますから。
教室の皆さんもそれぞれ新茶を楽しんだことでしょう。

これも恥ずかしいことに、跳ねる油が怖くて、私は殆ど天ぷら等揚げ物を揚げたことがなく、いつも主人にさせてます。

Looks like the fun! =)
I would assume the place same is either みた or さんだ, but I could be wrong. I mean, the town right next to mine is written 神戸 but pronounced ごうど, so anything is possible.

Yeah, you can make educated guesses about Japanese place names, but usually you find out that guess it wrong
I'd assume みた too but only because I spent years going past 三田(mita) station on the 南北線 in Tokyo. A milder form of the same thing turns up with other common names like 日本橋: the one in Tokyo is にほんばし while the one in Osaka is にっぽんばし etc
( I like to think that Coco-san actually lives in ひがしきょうと

Thanks for sharing that becki-san.
Is the ら in this sentence;
日本の香り体感、外国人ら茶摘み体験 三田
等 and others; et alios; and the like; and followers ?
さんた (三田) rings a bell

Don't complain to me that people kick you when you're down. It's your own fault for lying there

Thanks to everyone for reading and guessing. The place name I meant was actually the second half though 三田、母子. The reading of the first half is indeed さんだ, but because みた in 東京 is more famous, people who've never been here always read it as みた.
工場のおじさんにそれを聞いたんですけど、「うちで作るにはとても時間がかかりすぎるから、天ぷらにした方が楽」とのことでした。
Yes, that's right.
Here's a picture I took at the factory. It was quite fascinating watching the tea get processed.

まあ、確かに摘んだ茶葉はそのままでお湯に入れるとあまりいい感じじゃないと思いますね。僕はスーパーで買うばかりだからよくわかりません。:)
(で、その写真を見るとなんか飲みたいな...匂いが頭の中に浮かんでる...)
