Sociolinguistic research

Postby DinaUAE » Tue 05.28.2013 12:20 pm

Konnichiwa,

I have an assignment research in my sociolinguistic course. so I am searching for help to answer some of my questions. its about the style shifting between younger people and older (people in power position).

Questions:

1. As a young person, what language do you use when speaking with your friends that you don't use infront of older people/people in power position?

word examples (in term of linguistics):

2. Do you upshift your style language if an older person interacted with you and your friends?

word examples (in term of linguistics):

Thank you so much for your cooperation. I have read a lot of books and articles and it would be great of I asked real people instead of reading studies and researches!

Regards,
Dina
