Japanese and Robots

Today I was reading a magazine about Japan and its robots and I found a so interesting thing I want to share: karakuri.
It's something I never read or heard before and it was really fun discovering another hidden (for me) part of the amazing japanese culture.

Yeah, I've seen them before.
I fell asleep watching something on Discovery Science and when I woke up there was a program about those on, some companies have adpated the technology to carry products (that are being assembled) from one conveyer belt to another, it saves them a ton of money since it runs on kinetic energy rather than electricity.
I guess that's were the Japanese fascination with robots began.
