They seceded when John Kennedy dumped a ship load of pigs into their bay to block some Russian boats.

Was that before or after the world was flooded and people did battle on boats? I know a lot about that time period cuz I saw a movie about it once. I think it was a documentary.

I think it was before. It's freaky how the guy in that documentary looked just like the guy in that other documentary on the period in history when war had crippled the Earth and technology had been erased. I think he was a postman or something.

You mean when terrorists boarded Air Force 1? I thought he saved the day then too.

this is what really
happened
this is my version of what happened:
Cuba was once basically part of the US but it wasn't a state...it was kinda like what Puerto Rico is today, a commonwealth. US decides its gonna let Cuba and Puerto Rico go govern themselves (typical post WW2 ideals). It lets Cuba go first but along comes Fidel Castro....the United States is all like *beep* we're *beep*tards. The CIA takes like 1000 Cuban refugees, trains them, and provides them with weapons. They ship them to southern Cuba(the Bay of Pigs) and lets them fight the native Cuban army. While this is happening Kennedy's father with mob connections(actually he was the mafia) sneaks into Cuba and tries to assassinate Fidel. The only problem was...Fidel kinda found out about everything before it happened and stationed like 5000 troops on the bay. The invasion was a huge failure and United States still denies that it ever tried to assassinate Fidel...just like it denies that Kennedy's mafia dad bought his son presidency. Oh and they decide not to let Puerto Rico go just incase...

No matter how reasoned, rational, or accurate a statement may be, there is an element of the population whose ears will automatically tune it out the moment it starts hearing those extraneous "likes". Probably something to do with it causing their estimation of the speaker's intelligence to drop about 70 IQ points. Even more if they can also see the person vigorously smacking their chewing gum at the same time.

Mike, by the way, your posts
are good source for learning
new English vocabulary. Especially
for a non-native speaker.

duh its called writing in character. Most of my other posts don't have that kind of feel to them....right?(I hope so) Though I sometimes use the extraneous 'like'....and...I kind of use a lot more ellipses in a post that long.
