こんにちは皆さん!

Postby Dark Angel » Sat 11.18.2006 3:00 pm

Hi everyone. I'm Dark Angel and I'm new to the site. I've been studying Japanese for a while and I'm pretty good at it and when I found this site I almost instantly registered.

I hope I get to better know all of you soon!

Btw, I know I just got here, but I have a little grammar question that I hope some of you can help me on. What does a verb plus ても かまいません mean? Or just the て form plus かまいません?

Cya around the site :D

Hi there! Welcome to tjp! Enjoy your stay!

-てもかまいませんand -てかまいません mean more or less "I don't care if ..." or "It doesn't/won't bother me if..."

Hi Sunkenさん。初めまして。 Thanks for the tip. So, this sentence that I got off of the internet "テレビを見たい人は見てもかまいません。" would mean something like "The people who want to watch tv won't care if they watch?" That doesn't make much sense. Or would it more likely mean "I won't care if the people that want to watch t.v. watch it" with the 私 being left out of the sentence?

Thats the one. I would prefer "don't mind" though.
Are you aware of this little piece of grammar:

どうぞよろしく。 :p
Two muffins were baking in an oven. One turns to the other and says "sure is hot in here." The other replies "AH TALKING MUFFIN!"

二つのマフィンがオーブンで焼かれていた。片方のマフィンがもう一方のマフィンに向かって、"暑いね”と言った。すると、話しかけられたほうのマフィンは"アッ!喋るマフィンだ!”と驚いた。 :)
