Jusco stores are like a combination supermarket/department store. They are the anchor store in shopping malls built by the Aeon chain, the owner of Jusco, and are usually quite nice. I have never been in a Walmart, but from what I hear about them, they are nothing like a Jusco.

Jusco is a lot like Wal-Mart in the type of goods they sell, but not in the quality or the way they sell them. I would describe it more like a mix between Wal-Mart and Macy's.

Matusmoto,

WEGO (from what I read on their website) is a clothing store. That has something like 30 locations in Japan (more if you include outlet stores).

WEGO isn't really in the same class as JUSCO, as JUSCO is a super-store which has everything from Food to Clothes, to Electronics. They also have an ungodly number of stores throughout Japan, as well as the rest of Asia.

Also, just as an aside, you are aware that your location says "today" right? ;)

Oyaji,

I can't believe you've never been in a wal-mart. That's just mind-boggling to me.

Yeah, it's some joke about him being in Japan today. Or something. We brought it up before, but he didn't feel humiliated enough to change it :D
