I think of myself as pretty up on 1337 or textgo, but i find myself scratching my head and wondering what in the name of Hades you actually just said.

while chatting or texting, this might be appropriate, but with the number of non-english speakers this is most innapropriate and very confusing. While, after the 5th read I finally figured out what I think you meant (and who knows, I am probably wrong anyways), no one should have to go through that.

What bothers me is when, on occasion, you make a post that seems to have the only purpose of showing that you know it all.

First you posted saying you don't understand. Then when it's explained, you reply with "Yes, yes, I already know".

That kind of post offers nothing to the conversation, and only makes you look insecure

I still can't figure out why you'd use sms when typing on a computer, on a phone texting it makes more sense even though I still don't use it.
But where is the praticality in using it when typing on the computer?

Some thoughts & observations:

- My girlfriend is 33; all of her friends in Japan are within two or three years of her age. Only two out of a dozen or so of her closest friends are married; the rest are career women, though one is a lazy ne'er-do-well who still lives with mom and dad and does nothing but work in her little garden and complain about how boring her life is.

- The few married Japanese men that I've met are utterly dependent on their wives and do almost nothing in the way of chores, though the same thing could be said about a lot of American men (esp. those living in the Bible Belt).

- It would make sense that more married Japanese women are turning to some kind of work not terribly long after having kids, as the cost of living is getting so absurd, especially in the major cities. The proportion of part-time/temporary jobs has swelled dramatically in the past several years, and I'm guessing that married women are filling most of these positions.

- I knew several (native) Japanese guys in high school and college. The main reason they "feared" Western women is that they felt their English language skills might not have been up to par, and could have been a source of major embarrassment. The Japanese women living here that I've known are, for whatever reason, not as nearly self-conscious about their English speaking and comprehension ability. Must be a macho thing.

- One Japanese college student I knew said he found American women very beautiful but that their feet were always dirty. Go figure.

Well, no one will actually be influenced by anyone else unless one's is willing to change and accept to change.

Iagree.....although there are so much influence in the world, its basically up to them to decide to change or not. and if any change do come across, its because they want to ; its not forcing. then again, the world is bound to change anyways.
