*かわいい弁当*

Post by suhui » Mon 03.26.2007 10:43 pm

Japanese school children (or teenagers?) are way too fortunate (I find so) to have かわいい弁当s for meals everyday.

I have read an article saying that Japanese moms even held bentos competitions to flaunt their awe-inspiring culinary skills. I doubt my mum would spend her time that much on cooking.

Here's the link: http://www.e-bento.com (You can find many cute bentos designs)

I hate carrying an empty and sometimes sticky lunchbox home. So when I bring lunch I bring it in a plastic bag so I can throw the container away while I'm out. Does anyone else do this?

And,
x 弁と
o 弁当(bentou)
o お弁当(obentou)....'o' is a politeness prefix.

In many elementary schools and middle schools, students are required to eat the school lunch and cannot bring bentos. High school kids often go to 7-11 or the like so I don't know who would be eating these things.
