What's your favourite Japanese cultural event? =)

Postby Dana Craig » Thu 07.05.2007 12:53 pm

i've recently seen the movie "karate kid part ll" and if anyone saw it (which i'm sure u did) i'm sure they'd remember the "Obon" dance that was held in the caslte in honor of all dead ppl, i guess. i really enjoyed watching everybody dance and sing, it was cool!
another of my favourite cultural events is cherry blossoms in spring. so lovely

i wish if everyone in the forum could write about their favourite social function/event. ;)

OBON!!! Once I had to do a report about it in school and I've been to a few festivals in America! Wooooo!!! It's fun wearing my trendy yukata and spend the time with my cousins and one of their best friends, who is Japanese and helps me out sometimes. :)

I can't think of a single one I have the slightest interest in.

To OP: 7th July was the day of 七夕(たなばた). My kids witten their wishes on the strip of colorful papers and hung them on the branches of bamboo grasses :)

And my favourite one is.... hmm I can't chose it. I like every events.
