Totally random question...

Just wondering whether it matters which eye of the daruma gets colored in first?

It doesn't really matter. As long as you make a wish while coloring in one eye and once you complete it and color the other, it doesn't matter. :) I really want to make my own daruma someday, but I'd probably make something lame. LOL

Although it is said to paint eyes from the right side of the daruma's eye as you face it (i.e. left eye of daruma), as far as I have seen the images from the web sites, it seems there is not strict rules of it as Hatori-san said.
