Which book should I get?
I am not sure about my level of Japanese.
It maybe Upper Beginner or Intermediate.
I been studying before using mostly one Russian book (I bought it online, from one Russia online-book store). I used it, because I found it very good. In each chapter, it was teaching grammar, kanji and at least one story text and dialog text. Plus exercises at end of each chapter.
I still not finished with it. Only on 2nd book. It have 4 in total. (Last two are only in Japanese. Only Russian for words translations. Basically they are reading books)
Oh, I also used "Japanese for Busy People".
Now I am looking for some another Japanese book. Possibly English one.
I have looked at Genki 1 book before... And it seem like I am over that now, I know most of the things in it.
I am not sure about Genki 2, how deep it goes.
Any good books you can recommend?

japanese for busy people is like genki only without the story of mary.. it's more direct to the point..
i've also heard alot about minna no nihongo

I started out with "Japanese for Busy people".
I don't think I would use it again. Because it doesn't uses as much Kanjis and not so much into grammar. Doesn't teaches a lot of grammar or a lot of kanji.
Any good books for not beginners, which focus on grammar?

I have minna no nihongo, and it really works for me.
In the excersise book there are several excersises and conversations wich are all in Japanese. I have about 8 MNN books. And I use them all the time.
But I also have lessons 4 times a week in college. Mostly for the conversations, grammar explanations and listening excersices.

If you consider yourself upper beginner or intermediate, then you might want to try the readers like Breaking into Japanese Literature. I'm working through it right now, and I'm enjoying it very much.

I'm sort of in that level... but I've realized I don't have the patience/attention span and without my teacher, I think it's only like 15mins at most.

I don´t remember very well, but I think their structures are pretty much the same, but one of then(that I think it´s the minna no nihongo) has less kanjis in the grammar and vocabulary
